Information for visitors

Construction works at Bushof/Hofmatt – Schwyz, Zentrum bus stop in service – museum open

Construction works are currently taking place around the Forum of Swiss History Schwyz. The museum remains open and easily accessible.

The Hofmatt car park remains accessible, and access to the museum is unchanged. Public transport services to Schwyz, Zentrum continue to operate as usual.

Minor disruptions or temporary changes to access routes may occur.

Public transport

At Schwyz railway station, take bus No 501 towards Muotathal and alight at the ‘Schwyz Zentrum’ stop. The Museum is right next to the bus stop, on the opposite side of the Schwyzer Kantonalbank.

On the A4 motorway, take the ‘Schwyz’ exit and follow the signs for ‘Schwyz’ into the village centre. Parking is available at the Museum in the Parkhaus Hofmatt parking facility.

The museum welcomes people with a wide range of needs. Customised exhibition assistance can be organised by appointment. Please speak to the Reservations Desk if you have any questions about accessibility and inclusion.

For people with reduced mobility, the Museum has one wheelchair available for use during your visit. Please make a reservation with the Welcome Desk by telephone. An accessible toilet is located in the basement. All floors are accessible by lift.
