What’s so fascinating about tales of murder and crime? How do they manage to capture our imagination? The exhibition explores the genre, from classics by Glauser, Dürrenmatt, and Highsmith to contemporary formats including podcasts and graphic novels. It describes how crime stories are developed and how characters, sounds, and narrative styles are able to generate suspense. The focus is on the tradition of Swiss crime fiction, the role Switzerland’s landscapes play as settings, and what these stories tell us about our own society.
